Where did Fr. Damien get the strength and courage to live among the lepers and love them?
God's Fingerprint dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use our gifts in a way that leaves God's fingerprint in the world through our actions. We, too, can touch others and make a difference in their lives.
As you watch this, notice what the Bishop says to Fr. Damien. How will Fr. Damien respond?
In case the above video doesn't work, this is the same video just processed in a different format:
Post view: How did the little boy feel after Fr. Damien touched him? Was he healed? How was he “spiritually healed”?
Who are the untouchables of today? How can you “touch” them, physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
Post your reflections below.
Remember to post one original statement for each of the questions and respond twice.
The little boy felt healed and happy when Fr. Damien touched him. He was spiritually healed because he was touched by a father. The untouchables of today are probably poor people. You can "touch" them physically, emotionally, and spiritually by helping them out in life, donating your clothes, giving them food ect.

I to feel that when Father Damien touched the little boy he made him feel healed as well. He gave him hope that not everyone is afraid of them. The little boy was eager to serve. Lending a hand to those who do not have is a way to give emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
DeleteHe felt happy, he felt as if he wasn't looked at as being less human. In his heart he was healed. Because he felt the touch of the father which put a smile in his heart. The untouchables today are the less fortunate. We as a society can "touch" them by providing guidance and assistance to them in ways to help them have a better life.
